Exploring Carlsbad Caverns: An Unforgettable Adventure
Exploring Carlsbad Caverns: An Unforgettable Adventure Here we are in New Mexico. We are about…
Ok, so it is currently June 22nd in the year 2024 and Texas is having a heat wave that is making it very uncomfortable to camp. Current time is 7:24 PM and the camper is 86 degrees inside. That is with both AC running non stop on the camper. I don’t know why I felt the need to share that as it has nothing to do with Texarkana RV Park. Maybe this is just my way of desperately pleading for help and some cool weather.
What is crazy is this is our first stop in a four-week vacation leading us from Galveston Texas to Ventura California. So as hot as it is right now, it is only going to get hotter and hotter as we get into July and into the desert. More of that to come! Right now, I want to discuss the Texarkana RV Park. This Park was about 8 hours from our house. Making it a great spot to rest for the night before making the final push to Galveston.
Pulling into the park you will notice that you are right off the highway. Some people will be annoyed by that but I actually love it. It is right up the road from a truck stop making fueling easy. The Park staff is friendly and the entire park is gated. You receive a personalized PIN that is unique for each camper in order to access the park. I really like the security and safety the park takes into account for everyone staying here.
Only real complaint I have about here is that there are lot of “campers” that live here full time. We had many people come up to us as we are setting up and as the kids were swimming. Telling us how they live within the park and was wondering what our story was. They seemed surprised when we told them was are just passing through and only staying a night. Keep in mind that everybody was very friendly and very outgoing. I just would prefer to be in a park where everyone is on vacation/camping. Not living there.
I would recommend the park though for a overnight stop while passing through the area. It is cheap, clean, safe, and well maintained with a great pool. It has full hookups and nice level parking pads. Give it a shot if your in the area!
